Victorian Tree Climbing Championships 2009 Wrap Up.

Ok, the event has been run & won.

Competition results at the VTIO website here.

TREEGEAR had a great day, with plenty of sales on the day, but importantly great feedback on our setup & being involved, seems we got exposure to many that maybe didn't know about us as an option that are now glad to have an alternative. Lots of comments too on how our pricing was good value as well as having a few new unique items the others don't.

It was great also to meet many customers who had bought online before, nice to put a face to so many names.

Anyway, I hope all who came along had a good day out, sounds like most of you got to meet the TREEGEAR girls Melinda & Nikki too.

Also, congrats to the winners of the TREEGEAR Lucky Prize Draw.
I decided to put up some nice prizes that anyone on the day who joined our mailing list would be entered for. That way, you don't have to be a winning climber to win some kit.

1st Prize: Ben Evans-Smith (Jims Trees) took home a Petzl Sequoia harness valued at $499.95.

2nd Prize: Michael Hili (Freelance Contractor) received a Silky Zubat valued at $89.95....even though he just bought one off me a few weeks ago!

Saw Pod now available in Australia!
2/22/2009 11:52:21 AM

Tree Gear are pleased to announce Australian distribution of the Saw Pod Leg Scabbard Holder.
This unique leg strap makes your pruning saw easily accessible in the most awkward places!

No more struggling to place your saw back in a scabbard spinning round dangling from your harness.

We've given these some field testing and found them to be great, if you're the sort of climber who likes to keep their gear neat & systemised then this is for you.  It will also be very good for those into competitive tree climbing as the speed of deployment cant be beat.

Designed for both right and left users, for use in the tree or on the ground. It fits most makes of saw, straight or curved. With neoprene cushioning and elasticated Velcro brand straps, it fits comfortably on either leg.  Ideal companion to the Silky Zubat or Gomtaro!

Cast Aluminium "Caddilac" Spur Pads
10/30/2008 11:04:56 AM
Tree Gear has exclusively brought to the Australian market a completely new style of Pad for your Spur Climbing set.  These have been popular in the US for a while now, but more & more  Aussie climbers are trying these now.  Feedback is they are blown away by the light weight & comfort of them!  I know what it's like to spend a few solid hours up there on spurs without a break when blocking down big wood, and i know anything that makes you more comfortable is a big bonus.  But don't just take my word for it, check out what others have been saying.   Link to discussion on them here and comparison to Gecko Spurs here.

You can add these to your existing set of spurs by grabbing a set of pads here, or grab a whole new set with Cast Pads on either steel or titanium spurs here.
